Friendship Oncology Specialists

At Friendship Hospital for Animals, our goal is to preserve, lengthen, and improve quality of life for dogs and cats that are afflicted with cancer. Friendship Oncology Specialists offers a wide variety of treatment options for pets with cancer. Our oncologists work closely with a team of experienced and compassionate veterinary technicians and assistants to provide your patient with the highest quality of cancer treatment and state-of-the-art medical care.

Friendship Oncology Specialists sees cases with a definitive diagnosis of cancer, including all multiple myeloma and feline small cell lymphoma cases.  We are also willing to see undiagnosed cases with findings highly suggestive of cancer (i.e. hypercalcemia, hyperglobulinemia, lytic bone lesions, bladder masses, generalized lymphadenopathy, large cutaneous or intra-abdominal masses, etc) when these findings cannot otherwise be explained.  All veterinary cancer treatment plans are customized to meet the needs and goals of the individual patient and family.  Recent advances in diagnostic and treatment capabilities have allowed for a more individualized approach to veterinary cancer care, leading to more successful outcomes.

We strongly recommend that all clients maintain an ongoing relationship with their primary care veterinarian for medical issues unrelated to cancer.  All records from oncology will be shared upon discharge to provide continuity of care.  Administration of monthly heartworm and flea preventatives is recommended, although we ask that these are avoided within 24 hours of any chemotherapy treatment.  Annual vaccines should be discussed on a case-by-case basis but avoided within 24 hours of any chemotherapy treatment.  Regular vaccination for rabies is required by law.
